A modern Sports Injury Centre (SIC) at Safdarjung Hospital has been established with an objective of providing comprehensive surgical, rehabilitative and diagnostic services under one roof for specialized treatment of Sports and Joint Disorders. It was considered that the establishment of the Sports Injury Centre will also benefit the participants of the Commonwealth Games to be held at New Delhi in October, 2010. Therefore, with constant monitoring of the project, the Centre was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 26.9.2010 and made functional well before the start of Commonwealth Games, 2010. It is one of the largest medical outfits in the South East Asia catering to the specific needs of the sportsmen and women.
